Why are our products 100% plant-based?
Plant-based diet is
BETTER FOR YOUR HEALTH!
Various studies indicate that vegetarians and vegans live longer. According to the researchers at Loma Linda University in California, women on meat-free diet live an average of 6 years longer, whereas men even 9 years longer.*
Studies conducted in England and Germany have shown that vegetarians are about 40 percent less likely to suffer from cancer than carnivores. Harvard studies that included tens of thousands of men and women have shown that regular meat consumption increases colon cancer risk by roughly 300 percent!*
Did you know that plant-based diet can prevent or even cure type 2 diabetes? Dr James Anderson, a brilliant physician, recommended a 100% plant-based diet to his 25 patients and the experiment took place under controlled hospital conditions. Only after 3 weeks 24 out of 25 patients were able to stop taking insulin!*
One of the largest studies - a combined analysis of data from five studies involving more than 76,000 participants (vegetarians and carnivores leading similar lifestyles) published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition - showed that vegetarians were 25% less likely to die of heart disease.*
Plant-based diet is
BETTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) estimates that animal agriculture is responsible for about 18% of annual greenhouse gas emissions worldwide, which is more than from the whole transportation sector. The World Bank researchers have corrected this number and estimated it at minimum 51%.* Researchers in the Netherlands estimate that the production of 1 kg of beef generates as much CO2 emissions as a 111 kilometer drive by car.**

Did you know that as much as 26% of the earth’s land surface not covered with ice is used by livestock sector! The increasing demand for meat is the cause of deforestation.* It is estimated that 70% of the Amazon forest has been cut down for animal farming!**

The production of 1 kg of vegetable protein requires only 1% of the amount of water needed to produce 1kg of animal protein. The production of 1kg of beef requires 15,400 liters of water! *
Such amount of calories of feed is needed to produce 1,000 calories of food. The production of 1,000 kcal of beef requires 36,200 kcal of feed! *
Plant-based diet is
BETTER FOR THE ANIMALS
In one typical minute on this earth, people kill at least 109339 chickens, 2630 pigs, 922 sheep, 781 goats, and 557 cows, plus a very large number of ducks, horses, turkeys, and rabbits, as well as three camels and one unfortunate mule. Add it all up and every day about 160 milion animals are slaughtered for food, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.*
Overcrowded conditions in industrial farms promote the transmission of diseases and mutations of dangerous pathogens. These diseases can also be harmful to human health, therefore millions of animals are killed every year to stop the epidemics. EXAMPLES (number of killed animals in order to avoid the epidemic):
1996 - Great Britain - 4 million cattle - Mad cow disease
2001 - Great Britain - 10 million cattle, sheep and pigs - Foot-and-mouth disease
2009 - Egypt - 400 thousand pigs - Swine flu
2015 - USA - 50 million hens and turkeys (10% laying hens) - Bird flu
Industrial farming is associated with enormous cruelty. Piglets are castrated and their tails are cut off without anesthesia. Milking cows, exhausted by intensive exploitation and diseases, are slaughtered after 4-5 years, although under natural conditions they live up to 25 years. Laying hens are at the end of their production cycle (due to numerous diseases, body interference like drugs, hormones or growth stimulants, stress and stress-induced mutual aggression) completely worn out - sick, deformed, wounded and without feathers.
Factory-farmed animals are exposed to great stress. The overcrowded conditions, inability to establish natural relationships with other individuals, taking away the young from their parents, limited access to the sun and grass or numerous diseases lead to aggressive behaviors. As a result of their frustration pigs bite the tails of other pigs or cage rods, while hens peck and wound each other. Defenseless calves are taken away from their mothers immediately after birth and are placed in cramped single pens. Sows are locked in narrow metal gestation crates. For a few weeks they are not even able to turn around to make contact with their offsprings.
